This program is designed to provide postgraduate students, especially the employees of public and private sectors, with professional knowledge to be used in the regional, national, and international institutions. Through this program students are introduced to good government practices, strategic governance of the public, private and non-profit organizations, crisis prevention and crisis management, as well as protection of human rights.
The duration of the program is 18 months. During the first year, students attend lectures organized into 8 academic modules. Following the lectures, students, supervised by an academic tutor, research the topic of their interest, and do their internships in duration of 3 months in the governmental or non-governmental institutions/organizations. The internship component of the program should provide students with an additional approach to the master’s thesis research. Students write their thesis and finish the program by defending their masters’ theses in Sarajevo.
Attending all components of the program, as well as the short-term exchange in Italy, is necessary in order to get a diploma signed by all three universities- University of Sarajevo, Belgrade, and La Sapienza. Although not obligatory, a longer term exchange in Italy is also possible. Students with the best academic record are given full stipends to cover the costs of this exchange.
The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is used in the implementation of this program. All three universities-participants recognize the diploma, and the international recognition is guaranteed by the implementation of ECTS
